Lakelands Hospice Tandem Skydive Challenge
Take the leap of a lifetime and help local families live well, for as long as possible!
Would you jump from 10,000 feet to change someone’s life? By taking on a tandem skydive for Lakelands Hospice, Corby, you’ll be supporting vital services that help people live with dignity, comfort and support from diagnosis through to end of life.
Lakelands Hospice provides palliative and end of life care, free of charge, for people in Corby and the surrounding villages living with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, MND, COPD and advanced heart failure. We offer help right from initial diagnosis, throughout treatment, and with ongoing support as needs change.
A core part of our service is our ‘Day Hospice’, where patients attend the hospice during the week in a welcoming, supportive environment. Here, patients can access complimentary therapies, wellbeing activities and social support which are all designed to improve quality of life, reduce isolation and provide a sense of normality at an incredibly difficult time. We understand that attending a hospice can feel daunting, especially after a recent diagnosis which is why we encourage people to get in touch for an informal chat and visit, to see firsthand how Lakelands can make a positive difference.
Alongside ‘Day Hospice’, we support patients in their own homes wherever possible. Our ‘Hospice at Home’ service provides overnight care during the last weeks of life, working closely with GPs and District Nurses, 365 days a year. This allows patients choice about where they are cared for and may help avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. We also provide bereavement counselling and emotional support to families before and after a death.
Corby has one of the highest rates of heart failure in England, with some areas among the county’s most socially deprived. Our services are needed now more than ever, yet Lakelands receives no government or NHS funding and we rely entirely on fundraising and donations to keep our doors open and continue providing carefree of charge.
Join us on Sunday 2nd August 2026 as we celebrate 25 years of caring for patients in our community and help us continue this vital work for the next 25 years and beyond!
By signing up for a Lakelands Hospice tandem skydive, you’ll be helping ensure ‘Day Hospice’ services, ‘Hospice at Home care’, and ‘Bereavement Counselling Support’ remain available to local families when they need them most.
How it works:
